Arrive in Accra

Once you have arrived at Accra International airport, go through Immigration and luggage collection, you will be met outside the Arrivals exit by your guides. If your flight arrives at night there will be snacks in case you are hungry from the long journey. From the airport we will drive straight to the hotel for check-in. Later in the day, based on how you feel, we will visit Independence Square and the Black Star Arch. There you will learn about Ghana’s independence in 1957. In the evening we will have introductions, welcome drinks and dinner accompanied with African culture drums.

Day Two

Ghana’s Story of Heritage & Independence

Shortly after breakfast, we’ll begin the day at the National Museum of Ghana, where we’ll explore Ghana’s history, cultural heritage, and the stories that have shaped the nation. From there, we’ll visit Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, the final resting place of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, Ghana’s first prime minister and president and a leading figure in the country’s independence movement. After lunch, the afternoon is yours to enjoy at your own pace. Relax at the hotel, spend some time at the beach, or simply unwind before the evening. For those who would like to experience another side of the city, we’ll offer an optional night out in Accra, where you can enjoy the energy, music, and nightlife of Ghana’s capital.

Day Two

Aburi Botanical Gardens & Asenema Waterfall - Night in Accra

After breakfast, we’ll travel to the beautiful Aburi Botanical Gardens, where you’ll discover a variety of tropical plants, trees, and herbs while learning about their traditional uses and importance in Ghanaian culture. From Aburi, we’ll continue to the picturesque Asenema Waterfall, tucked away in the lush greenery of Ghana’s Eastern Region. Take time to enjoy the peaceful surroundings, capture some photos, or cool off in the refreshing water—so don’t forget your swimsuit if you’d like to take a dip! On our journey back to Accra, we’ll stop for a delicious lunch before returning to the hotel, where you’ll have the remainder of the day to relax and unwind.

Day Three

Aburi Botanical Gardens & Asenema Waterfall - Night in Accra

After breakfast, we’ll travel to the beautiful Aburi Botanical Gardens, where you’ll discover a variety of tropical plants, trees, and herbs while learning about their traditional uses and importance in Ghanaian culture. From Aburi, we’ll continue to the picturesque Asenema Waterfall, tucked away in the lush greenery of Ghana’s Eastern Region. After breakfast in Accra, we will drive 2 hours, 30 minutes to the eastern region of Ghana, Akosombo. Akosombo is known for Volta lake which is the world’s largest man-made reservoir. Akosombo dam powers approximately 30% Ghana’s electricity. In the afternoon, you can relax from the long journey and enjoy the pool at the hotel.

Keep your camera ready as we look for giraffes, zebras, antelopes, and other wildlife while taking in the beautiful natural landscape. After our safari adventure, we’ll return to the lodge to relax and enjoy the evening surrounded by the peaceful sights and sounds of nature.

In the morning, we head to Cape Coast which will take approximately 3 hours, 20 minutes. Our first stop will be at the Assin Manso Slave River, a significant site in Ghana’s history, where enslaved Africans were forced to take their final bath before being marched to the dungeons of Cape Coast Castle or Elmina Castle. From here, we will have lunch and visit the door of no return at the Cape Coast slave Dungeon.

For lunch, guests may choose to participate in an optional Ghanaian cooking class for a hands-on introduction to local cuisine. Those who prefer a more relaxing afternoon are welcome to unwind by the pool or enjoy the beach at the resort. In the evening, we’ll come together for a traditional naming ceremony at the resort—a meaningful cultural experience and a special way to conclude the day.
